With our company's history spanning over 40 years, you will have stability, career growth opportunities, and will work with the brightest minds in the industry.The position:The Customer Support Field Engineer represents Panasonic Field Engineering interests in resolution of technical issues with other Panasonic and the airlines engineering departments.
This role will perform on-site support, technical guidance, support, and training to airline customers and OEMs to ensure product requirements, performance and reliability objectives are met.Your key responsibilities:Guide and manage investigations relating to IFEC hardware, network, software and services from issue discovery to resolution for line-fit, retrofit and in-service environments.Provide troubleshooting assistance and support related to IFEC hardware, network, software and services, related to new hardware installations, modifications, wiring, software, issue isolation and resolution.Carry out testing before aircraft delivery, on the ground and inflight.Report and communicate to a diverse audience consolidating information relating to IFEC performance, customer and passenger feedback and information from internal departments such as repair shops, line maintenance stations software and hardware engineering.Collaborate with Product Support Engineer, Field Support, and delivery teams to implement new features, hardware and software product improvements, and bug fixes.Review and evaluate documentation such as wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, component manuals, operation manuals, service literature, and test and requirements documentation.Maintain a detailed working knowledge of aircraft avionics systems which interface with Panasonic equipment.Perform as engineering liaison for development or integration of next generation Panasonic IFE systems.Develop, maintain, and share knowledge of Panasonic products and installations, including system software and associated equipment.Remain current as new products and enhancements are released.
Continually obtain new data, specifications, and interface often with the groups developing new products and software.Other duties as required.The successful applicants will have:Full working rights in New Zealand.Associates Degree/equivalent educational qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or related degree; or 5 years engineering experience in Information Technology, electronics/avionics systems, software or broadcast technology.Experience in identifying engineering problems in software and hardware and reporting to Field Engineering management.Network/Software and system development/integration experience is desired.Ability to work independently and establish work priorities.Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences (technical vs non-technical).Working knowledge of Linux/Unix commands, file system structure, TCP/IP networks and troubleshooting methods.Ability to understand and use wiring schematics, diagrams and other engineering/aircraft documentation preferred.Ability to operate standard electronic test equipment and tooling.Familiarity with FAA, CAA, and ATA requirements for avionics equipment.What we offer:At Panasonic Avionics Corporation we realize the most important aspects in leading our industry are the bright minds behind everything we do.
