Oromairaki is also a contemporary new birthing unit within the Selwyn Health Hub (Toka Hapai) located in Rolleston. Hospital Aides support the midwives' role and are responsible for the domestic requirements of the unit. These include, for example, cleaning and stocking rooms; ordering and stocking linen; orientating women to the unit and supporting partner and whanau visiting; answering the phone.
