The appointing salary for this role will be between $100,000 and $120,000, dependent on skills and experience.
The Assistant Head of School - Health and Sport Science, is based in our Faculty of Education, Humanities and Science | Te Pukenga reporting to the Head of School, Health and Sport Science and will be responsible for:  Support the Head of School : Assist with maintaining high-quality programmes, marketing, resource management, and achieving performance goals.
Team Leadership : Manage and develop staff, ensuring alignment with the programme's philosophies and objectives.
Industry Partnerships : Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to secure student placements and professional networks.
Committee Participation : Actively engage in committees and meetings to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with institutional goals.
Teaching and Supervision : Provide teaching and supervision in relevant programmes as needed.
He korero mou| About you To be successful in this role you will have:   Relevant Qualifications and Experience : Master's degree or equivalent knowledge, with proven leadership and management experience, and expertise in curriculum and program development.
Cultural Competence : Understanding of cultural safety principles, commitment to student success parity, and appreciation of te reo me ona tikanga Maori.
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills : Ability to inspire and lead, strong communication, team building, planning, and organizational skills, and excellent relational skills with staff and students.
Networking Ability : Strong networking skills with public, private, voluntary, and iwi health and disability-related agencies.
Professional Attributes : High degree of professional judgment, personal initiative, commitment, and integrity.
