Our Cardiothoracic surgical unit at Auckland City Hospital is the highest volume unit in Australasia.
A subset of the ACH perfusionists also provides perfusion services for the Starship Children's Hospital Cardiac service.Click here for a copy of the Position DescriptionAbout the Team/Service/ LocationThe Cardiothoracic Service at Auckland City Hospital (ACH) is the main Cardiac Centre in New Zealand providing the full range of cardiac surgery for both ischemic and rheumatic heart disease, aortic surgery, heart, lung and liver transplantation for which the adult caseload is approximately 1200 per year.
The unit is also the national ECMO centre for which it has a retrieval service.Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand is set in a pristine marine-based environment with a temperate climate and has a population of 1.5 million.
