Job DescriptionPLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHSPullman Auckland is looking for Maintenance Technician to assist the Engineering team in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel. This diverse role encompasses varying degrees of trade including painting, building maintenance or general handyman duties.Assisting the Chief Engineer and Assistant Maintenance Manager in maintaining safe working practices while overseeing the building, plant, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
This helps protect the assets and ensures a functional, pleasant, and safe environment for all guests, contractors, visitors, and employees.Carry out painting tasks as required, including touch-ups, wall repairs, and full repaintsLiaise with the Chief Engineer and Assistant Maintenance Manager iregarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the hotel are brought back to use as soon as possible. Complete all tasks where possible within a 15 minutes time frame of receiving the requestReport back to the Manager on Duty or Front Office the completion or delay, of any task that is guest related.Suggest any improvements that could be made to improve existing service or procedures, log and inform the Department Manager of any service or system problems. QualificationsSPECIFIC REQUIREMENTSAt least 1 year of experience in maintenance or a similar industry; experience in the hotel or tourism industry is preferred but not required.Trade qualifications are preferred but not essential.Working knowledge of building compliance, risk management, and a passion for environmental sustainability.Hands-on approach required—this is not an administrative roleStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to think effectively, logically, and resourcefully.Demonstrates responsibility, self-motivation, and proactivity, while consistently bringing a positive attitude to the hotel team.Ability to work a rotating roster.Have rights to Work in New ZealandAdditional InformationWhy join Pullman Auckland?
