To view all our benefits, visit www.racp.edu.au/about/careers-at-racp.Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,2 days from an RACP office location per week,1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.Description:Newly created roleContract until February 2026The RoleThe role will provide project support to the Lead Fellow Maori Health and the Maori Health Registrar(s) by driving initiatives related to the journey of Maori trainees and Fellows within the College, ensuring their experiences are culturally safe, supportive, and aligned with the College's commitment to Maori health and wellbeing.
Additionally, the role will facilitate reporting against the Indigenous Strategic Framework and assist the Lead Fellow Maori Health and Maori Health Registrar(s) in delivering on strategic priorities and our commitment to Maori health, as part of embedding the Indigenous Object.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Work collaboratively with relevant College committees, including the Maori Health Committee, as well as strategic partners and cultural advisors to deliver on this work.Provide advice, guidance, and support to internal stakeholders and team members to promote the understanding and practices of tikanga across the College and with our members.Assist in preparing reports and briefing papers to inform decision-making regarding Maori Health.Aid in the development, improvement, and implementation of effective and efficient administrative systems and procedures.Organise the biennial Maori Health Hui for the College's Maori members and the Annual Maori Trainees wananga.Support the development and implementation of initiatives and policies related to Maori Health, including activities to advance Hauora Maori, cultural safety and competency, and growing the Indigenous workforce.Manage the Maori Caucus Facebook and other communication channels for Maori members.Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support Maori health initiatives.Advocate for Maori health needs and priorities within the College and in external forums.Skills and Experiences:The Successful CandidateTo be successful in the role, the candidate will have a knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Maori and Hauora Maori, as well as an understanding of health inequities and colonial trauma and health perspectives.
Further skills and experience include:Proven experience in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to objectives.Demonstrated knowledge in the application of te Tiriti o Waitangi in a health setting.Deep understanding of Maori culture values and tikanga.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.Strong ability to work collaboratively with various teams, committees, and external partners.Exceptional organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects efficiently.Ability to take initiative and lead projects, while also supporting and guiding others.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and environments.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.Proficiency in preparing comprehensive reports and briefing papers to inform decision-making and support strategic initiatives.Highly developed analytical, political judgement and strategic thinking skills.Ability to work with own initiative with a continuous improvement mindset.Ability to work in a distributed team.To apply for the role, submit your CV and cover letter by COB 9 March 2025.To view the position description, visit https://www.racp.edu.au/docs/default-source/about/careers/senior-project-officer-hauora-maori-position-description.pdfFor further information, email ******
