The Registrar provides dynamic and strategic leadership in academic operations by effectively planning and managing the maintenance and integrity of all student academic records, coordination and verification of the content in academic catalogs, creation and upholding of course and classroom schedules and allocations, facilitating all areas of student registration, recording and reporting of grades, ensuring graduation requirements, compliance with Federal and State guidelines and regulations, the establishment and maintenance of processes for the equitable and consistent administration of policies and procedures as they relate to registration and academic record keeping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all enrollment related operational and policy related functions of the Registrar division, including registration, academic record keeping, curriculum management, graduation, Commencement planning, federal and state compliance, diploma generation and distribution, grading, transcript accuracy and production, degree progress audits, enrollment certifications and Veterans benefit enrollment certifications.Oversee the management of policies, processes, and operations of the Registrar's Office and provide leadership, innovation, vision, and accountability for the management of all records, registration policies, and services that support student success.Oversee the conformity of educational record use, dissemination, and privacy of student information to university policies and legal requirements, including the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable laws and regulations as well as those of other regulatory agencies.Supervise the maintenance of the degree audit system and provide oversight for the monitoring of student's progress toward degree completion.Manage the coordination and verification of the course content of the Academic Catalogs.
Develop the University's Academic Calendar in consultations with appropriate administrators.Promote and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, and academic partners across campus and other institutions, collaborating on issues relating to curriculum, university policies, and other areas of Registrar responsibilities.Develop and maintain an operational guide and manual as well as the Registrar's Calendar.Oversee National Student Clearinghouse monthly and special submissions.Manage the establishment and maintenance of processes for the equitable and consistent administration of academic record keeping policies and procedures.Work collaboratively with direct reports to strategically plan the technological direction of procedures, processes, and policies.Work collaboratively with Information Technology Services (ITS) to plan and develop strategies for maintenance and assessment of academic information infrastructure, this includes advising ITS on software and programming issues.Examine and re-engineer operations and procedures, formulate policy, and develop and implement new strategies and procedures, to lead process change, as needed to develop and maintain contemporary operations for registrar services.Oversee the catalog and departmental webpages' maintenance and accuracy.Coordinate budget planning, monitor budget implementation, and ensure fiscal management.Advise and respond to questions from University departments and external agencies regarding complex issues or policies impacting assigned programs and services.Collaborate directly and successfully with faculty and campus partners to develop and implement policies and processes.Monitor and verify student enrollment data essential for official internal and external reporting related to academic and student records, including the National Student Clearinghouse, auditors, and accreditors, as needed.Supervise a team of three professional staff including associate registrar, assistant registrar, and office coordinator.Produce student data reports for campus stakeholders and provide detailed and complex reports to national and federal agencies such as NCAA, IPEDS, Department of Education and Veteran Affairs. Essential Tasks: Serve as a member of the Enrollment Management leadership team and assist in developing the divisional plan and setting divisional priorities.
The Registrar must be highly collaborative with other senior leaders in key partner offices.Develop and maintain a strategic plan for The Office of the University Registrar with a genuine commitment to student success, customer service, growing enrollment, and supporting diversity.
Investigate and develop ways to improve services to prospective and enrolled students.Develop, plan, implement, and administer organizational goals and objectives. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in a student-services related area, education, business or other related field.
Master's degree preferred.Five to eight years of progressive administrative leadership experience required primarily in the areas of Student Records, Registration, Degree Clearance or other support areas, including at least two years of supervisory experience.Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position.Knowledge of enterprise-scale student information systems, processes, and management.Comprehensive knowledge of enrollment systems and well-versed in the requirements and processes of a successful Registrar.Strong understanding of best practices in student registration and records and understands the role of the Registrar in strategic enrollment management and student success.Experience with information systems such as WorkDay, CampusVue/Anthology, and academic catalog software a plus.Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills, and public speaking experience are essential. Other Responsibilities: Requirements are within the general range of an office environment.
Daytime and some travel is required during the year.
