It encompasses mechanical design, project planning, estimating, and involvement in customer service and sales.You will have autonomy to develop professional, technically sound, compliant, and user-friendly design drawings and specifications using Solidworks. This includes direct interaction with clients to fully understand their requirements and expectations.You will also provide innovative input into new project planning, establish project budgets, and support project managers on key projects, ensuring variations are documented and effectively managed.Additionally, you will enhance your estimating skills by preparing market-competitive pricing and proposals for diverse customer work, overseeing the delivery of successful estimates.About You:Ideally qualified in mechanical engineering design or similar, with solid hands-on drafting experience, you have:A sound understanding of estimating complex projects in an engineering-related sectorProven proficiency using standard office systems and CAD software, ideally SolidworksA background in trade-based engineering, with the ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawingsSound understanding of the properties of engineering materialsUnderstanding of technical standards and codes of engineering designHigh level of flexibility, capable of working across diverse projects and industries simultaneouslyHighly customer-driven, able to build rapport quickly and become a trusted source of professional adviceYou seek a role where you are expected to think for yourself and make decisions, with opportunities to grow your skills and be fairly rewarded for your talent while supporting team growth.You are someone who relishes being trusted to work smart, work safe, find solutions, and own your responsibilities.About Us:In business since 1972, we cover everything from maintenance servicing, ferrous and non-ferrous fabrication, pipe work to CNC machining/laser cutting.
