St. Amant is guided by its core values of Collaboration, Hospitality, Excellence and Respect.We are currently looking for a Brandon Tutor who can work Monday to Friday in the mornings.Position Summary:We are seeking fun, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate individuals to join our team in supporting children with ASD to fulfill their potential. As an Autism Tutor, you will be an integral part of a team, working one-on-one with children and families, teaching important skills in all life areas based on individualized goals. You will apply creativity to deliver programs in fun and interesting ways in a St.Amant classroom or in a community setting (e.g., child care centre, family home).This position reports to the Family Information & Resource Manager, and works under the supervision of a Behaviour Analyst and Senior Tutor.Qualifications:Minimum education of Grade 12 diploma or equivalentStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and a commitment to work within a teamCurrent First Aid and CPR certificationAssets:Previous experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities or ASDPost-secondary course work in behaviour modification/applied behaviour analysis (ABA)Previous work experience in a supervised ABA programKnowledge of philosophies and practices in education, care and support services for individuals with disabilitiesPersonal:Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as a collaborative team player in a team environmentAbility to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to generate ideas to improve work procedures and contribute to an environment that fosters growth, development and innovationSuperb interpersonal ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with humility and self-awarenessAbility and willingness to give and receive honest, balanced feedbackDemonstrates competence and character that inspires trustActs with integrity and respect in all interactionsValues and commitment to continuous self-growth and professional learningEnergetic, self-directed, proactive and client-focusedPhysical ability and emotional stability to support children's physical needs and respond appropriately to challenging behaviourAbility to investigate, and analyze information and communicate suggestions to other team membersDuties and Responsibilities:Delivers ABA intervention to assigned children under the direction of the Autism Consultant and Senior Tutor including learning activities in all life areasAttends team meetings and workshopsCollects data and information regarding the child's progressWorks closely with other team members to ensure coordination and integrity of servicesCommunicates with child's family regarding the child's progress, care, and well-beingSupports and assists child to participate in daily activities (e.g., group activities, outdoor play time), self-care and personal care when neededUnderstands policies and procedures of the Autism Programs and those of the organizationReports and documents high risk or potentially high risk situations according to St.Amant and Autism Programs policyCarries out programming and teaching in areas/goals that have been identified and individualized for each child; works one-on-one with the child to develop their skills and independenceWilling and able to learn and maintain accurate data collection, summary and entry methodsCommits to complete all training required by the Autism ProgramsDevelops and/or constructs material for client use when requiredAbility to work within an interdisciplinary teamWe provide:Excellent ongoing training in teaching individuals with ASDOpportunities for career advancementThe opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their familiesExcellent benefits packageThe above information is intended to describe the general nature of this position and is not considered to be a complete statement of duties and responsibilities.
