Green Meadows Beef is a proudly Taranaki-based business that was founded in 2012. We manufacture beef, lamb, pork and venison products from our plant in Waiwhakaiho, New Plymouth. As well as our own brands, we manufacture for other market leading businesses and private label brands for sale across New Zealand, the South Pacific and South East Asia.We are looking for an Afternoon Shift Team Leader / Assistant Production Manager to help us produce and deliver our products on spec and on time.The Shift hours are currently:Sunday: 9am-5:30pmMonday-Thursday: 2pm-10:30pmWhat you will be responsible for:Working with the General Manager Operations and Production Manager to set production workload and ensuring this is completedLeading a team of 7-8 staff (inductions, training, managing leave & absences, regular staff reviews, meetings)Assist in creating a high performance culture while ensuring positive and constructive employee relationships continue to growAssisting the Production Manager with Food Safety and Compliance tasksOwning and refining standard operating proceduresDoing what it takes to ensure production is completed (including covering staff absences)The successful applicant will have:A desire to be a facilitator and a mentor to their teamA history of leading a high performing team who enjoy coming to workExperience working in a food business is preferred, but we welcome any applicants who have experience in managing teamsBasic computer skills (Microsoft plus other Cloud based systems)Great communication skills (written and verbal)A strong process and technical knowledgeA good sense of humour and not be afraid of a challengeWe are growing quickly and are looking for somebody to jump on board quickly to help us be better at what we do. This is a challenging and fast paced role which requires a confident individual with professionalism, drive, strong negotiation skills and can effectively interact with all types of personalities.
