If you thrive in a collaborative environment and are ready to take on exciting challenges, we want to hear from you Te Wero - The Challenge The role of SCADA Engineer involves: Lead SCADA Software Development: Spearhead the development, installation, and maintenance of SCADA software systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability for the Far North District Council. Project Management: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the system engineering project lifecycle, from initial planning and definition to the delivery of final project outcomes. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for SCADA system enhancements, ensuring alignment with the Council's goals and objectives. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and external vendors, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of SCADA systems. Quality Assurance: Ensure all SCADA software and systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and updates as necessary. Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve SCADA systems, staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices. We're looking for a candidate who brings: Educational Background: Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields (e.g., software, computer systems, mechatronics). Experience: Over 5 years of experience in SCADA or a related role within New Zealand. Documentation Skills: Proficiency in writing documentation, reports, and workflow processes. Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with New Zealand engineering standards, design codes, and practices. Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including staff, executives, community members, and political figures. Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to foster collaboration and cooperation. Organizational Skills: Well-organized, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Customer Service: Enthusiastic and committed to delivering excellent customer service. Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, capable of simplifying complex problems. Technological Proficiency: Technologically literate, with the ability to quickly learn new programs and technologies. Community Focus: A strong desire to achieve the best outcomes for our community. Progressive Mindset: Proactively focused on continual improvement. Driver's License: A current full NZ driver's license or equivalent. SCADA Knowledge: Expertise in major SCADA systems. Communication Protocols: Understanding of standard communication protocols.
