Our Service Delivery team sits within the Trade, Revenue and & Compliance Group, and assists customs brokers, freight forwarders and importers with the clearance of goods and manages their enquiries. We currently have an opportunity to join this team on a full time, permanent basis.

Based at Auckland Customhouse, this role includes a range of transactional tasks that relate to Service Delivery Clearance team functions, including the following:

* Processing client code registration requests (importer/exporter codes) received via email for private importers and organisations
* Assist with data entry work and administrative support as required
* Stakeholder communication and answering internal and external enquiries
* Email mailbox management and maintenance

This is a full-time role working works 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday within our operating hours of 7am - 5pm.

The base salary for this role is $53,832 per annum.

About you | Ko wai koe

We are looking for someone who has:

* Experience in data entry, with excellent speed and accuracy
* Ability to quickly learn and use new technology (i.e. internal data-based systems)
* Sound computer literacy skills with sufficient knowledge of Word and Excel
* Resilience to work in a highly structured environment which has a high degree of repetition and routine
* Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
* Previous experience providing administrative support and customer services preferred, but not essential

No previous experience of Customs operational systems is required as training will be provided.

To work for the New Zealand Customs Service, you must meet all the following requirements:

* Be a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident
* Residing in New Zealand at the time of application
* Have resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years*
* Successful applicants are also required to pass a drug test and have a clear Police record.

* If you are a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years but have been absent from New Zealand for periods of 6-9 months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK or the USA then you will be required to provide overseas Police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
