Main duties of the job As a Bank Support Worker, you will join a team that works together to provide care and support for people with mental health conditions. You will utilize your experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker to help service users lead fulfilling lives. The role can be challenging at times, but it is highly rewarding to see people's progress and be able to make a real difference. The service operates 24/7 with shifts, and as a Bank worker, you'll have the freedom to choose the shifts that fit your lifestyle.

Whether you're looking for extra shifts to boost your income or a flexible job that fits around your lifestyle, if you're an experienced Support Worker in the UK you can join our staff bank and, after completing a paid two-week induction, you'll have access to available shifts at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington, plus the potential future option to work bank shifts regionally at other Elysium services across the region.
There is no minimum number of hours that you need to work, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.
Weekdays, nights, and weekend shifts are regularly available, which are easy to view and book through an app. Within a few taps, you'll have the shifts at Wellesley Hospital secured that you want.
Whether your experience is from the NHS or private sector, you can join the team as a Bank Healthcare Assistant with an hourly rate that includes an uplift to cover annual leave, plus have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty, free parking, and more.
What you will be doing You will join the team that works well together to provide care for people with mental health conditions. Whether you are currently a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker, you will utilize your experience to support people to lead a valued and fulfilled life.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve; being able to do something today that they couldn't do last week because of you.

The service operates 24/7 with standard hour shifts. As a Healthcare Assistant on our bank, you'll be on a zero-hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week.

Wellesley Hospital is a purpose-built 73-bed hospital in the South West for men and women with mental health problems. On the same site, there is a separate 13-bed service for people with a learning disability who may present with mental illness, personality disorders, and an autistic spectrum condition.
