Systemic Practitioner/Trainee Systemic Family Therapist Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Would you like to be part of a service which is innovative, forward-thinking and committed to enabling people who are experiencing eating disorders to recover and discover their potential? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Systemic Practitioner (AFT approved CYP-IAPT or Intermediate Level course trained) to join a busy and well-respected All Age Eating Disorder Service (EDS). We are a specialist service with five locality teams covering the Lancashire and South Cumbria area, providing excellent opportunities for shared learning and support. This post will be in the East Lancashire locality team based at Pendle House, Nelson. Some input into the West team, based in Ormskirk may also be required. You should be an excellent communicator and team player, with the successful applicant joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team of professionals. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality systemic interventions to children, young people, and adults with eating disorders, working with them alongside their families, carers, and as couples, as is clinically indicated. The job will also involve supervision of nurses delivering FT-AN, co-facilitating in-house training, and coordinating Multi-Family Therapy Groups, alongside the Senior Family Therapist. Main duties of the job To complete the Masters in Systemic Psychotherapy (funded by the service). To contribute to a high-quality specialist family therapy service to service users and families with complex emotional and mental health needs as part of the All Age Eating Disorder Service. To provide specialist assessment, formulation, and therapy within the service. To offer advice, consultancy, and supervision, under the supervision of the Senior Family Therapist, and support the work of colleagues providing care and treatment, according to expertise. To work with the Senior Family Therapist to provide training to a range of qualified and unqualified staff across mental health areas, as agreed. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To be involved in service developments, as appropriate. Person Specification Education Professional qualification in a mental health or social welfare discipline or agreed Association of Family Therapy (AFT) equivalent. Postgraduate training in Systemic Practice to enable the title of Systemic Practitioner - namely completion of either 'AFT approved' Intermediate Level Systemic Practice Training or CYP-IAPT in Systemic Family Practice. Registration with the appropriate regulatory body for core profession. Knowledge Skills in the use of methods of Systemic Psychotherapy/Family-based assessment, intervention, and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration. High level of relationship and communication skills to work with clients, families, and/or professionals where the atmosphere might be both pressured and emotive. Well-developed skills in the ability to comprehend and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information in a manner appropriate to a range of settings and audiences, including complex emotive situations and those with impaired communication capacities. Experience Substantial practice in relevant first profession. Substantial experience of working as a family and systemic psychotherapist. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
