As part of the wider Credit team, this role supports effective delivery of key collections, recovery, and default management practices, while providing service and support to customers, MTF Finance originators, and other key stakeholders.Responsibilities:Promptly responding to all enquiries in relation to customer loans where financial or non-financial default is imminent or has occurred.Supporting our network of originators with arrears management, asset recovery, and debt collection activity.Supporting our originators to comply with MTF Finance credit policy and regulatory requirements as they relate to the recovery of an asset and any legal proceedings.Generating documentation to ensure legislative requirements are met.Initiating and responding to customers, MTF Finance originators, and other third parties in relation to impaired loans and default management processes.Monitoring missed payments daily, contacting customers promptly to remedy arrears.Initiate appropriate recovery action on impaired loans in alignment with MTF Finance values and policies, legislative requirements and internal procedures.Liaising with our legal team and external solicitors as required regarding credit contract enforcement and legal proceedings.Working with our Credit Analytics team to identify default and credit risk trends within the MTF Finance portfolio.You'll need to have:At least five years experience in a debt recovery role within the finance sector.Experience contributing to continuous improvement, demonstrating increased efficiency and delivery of great outcomes.High competency in Office 365 particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with an ability to adapt to new systems and technologies.Good understanding of debt recovery and collections processes including an understanding of the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act, Responsible Lending Code, and Privacy Act.Ability to be empathetic towards people whilst remaining committed and persistent in the pursuit of recovering debt.Sound problem solving capabilities with the ability to negotiate a fair resolution and remain calm when challenged.Detail focused with a high level of accuracy and ability to investigate and identify anomalies.Effective written and oral communication.What you'll receive in return:You'll be part of an iconic New Zealand business that is on a mission to be New Zealand's favourite finance company, and we're proudly based in Dunedin.A competitive remuneration package which includes medical insurance, a performance incentive programme, and the option of flexible benefits.Plenty of opportunities for development with support from an exceptional team.A dynamic and collaborative culture with a central and modern office space and a team who enjoy working together and who are proud to be MTF'ers.A supportive and vibrant culture where our people work together to deliver on our commitments.Awesome colleagues who will support you 100%.About us:At MTF Finance our mission is to help New Zealanders get ahead by making lending about people again.
