With dedicated spaces for cats and dogs, we ensure the best experience for our patients and their families.Our values:We are one teamWe do right by our patientsWe value growthWe take ownershipWe make referrals easyThe opportunity:We're currently hiring emergency veterinarians (part-time and full-time in Albany and Freemans Bay, Auckland).As an emergency veterinarian, you'll handle a diverse caseload, providing urgent care to emergency patients and managing specialist in patients with support from our collaborative team.Position responsibilities/tasks:Urgent medical, surgical, and critical care services, including resuscitation, stabilization, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral as necessary.Assessing the urgency and severity of presenting problems through history taking, examination, and investigation.Recommending and where appropriate, undertaking treatment options under a treatment plan and performing interventions and procedures, including prescribing, surgery, and client education.Referring cases to ARC specialists for diagnostic, therapeutic, and support services as required.Performing surgical procedures (specialists are on-call for more complex procedures, and surgical mentorship opportunities are also available for less experienced veterinarians).Preparing accurate and detailed notes, clinical summaries, and client communications, including liaising with referring veterinary clinics.Invoicing for services rendered.Variety and growth: Gain experience with a wide range of cases while exploring leadership opportunities.Collaborative environment: Work in a friendly, supportive team that fosters learning and teamwork across disciplines.Investment in you: Enjoy in-house and external CPD opportunities, ANZCVS membership support, and financial assistance for further studies.Work-life balance: Benefit from a flexible roster designed to suit individual preferences.Competitive package: We offer competitive remuneration ($120,000 to $140,000 NZD per annum depending on experience), CPD allowances, paid memberships, on-site parking, free gym access (ARC Central), and mental health support through trained managers and EAP.What we're looking for:BVSc or equivalent degree recognised by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.Ability to work in New Zealand - we will consider supporting work visas if necessary.Minimum of two years' veterinary experience in small animal practice or completion of a 1-year rotating internship.Emergency experience advantageous but not essential.Strong verbal and written communication ability.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and upholding high clinical standards.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive, adaptable attitude.Willingness to grow and learn as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
