Position Purpose: To provide effective, accurate and timely data and statistical analysis and reporting to support the University's strategic and operational planning objectives.
Department: Strategy and Planning, Vice-Chancellor's Office
Location: Palmerston North
Reports to: Director, Strategy and Planning
Key relationships:Senior Analysts and analysts within the Strategy and Planning teamStaff across the university including Learner Success Teams, ITS, Finance, Research Office, Sustainability Office, Governance and RiskAbout Massey University:

About this area:The Strategy and Planning Office provides quality strategic institutional research to support the University's planning processes and implements aspects of the Financial Recovery Plan.
Responsibilities:Support the University's enrolment forecast processPrepare statistics for key reporting requirements, including the Annual Report and the Investment PlanProvide data and analysis for strategic initiatives, focusing on student successManage Massey's Single Data Return to the Tertiary Education CommissionSubmit data for university rankings and benchmarkingProvide official statistics for internal and external requestsMassey core capabilities:At Massey, we are Tiriti-led, upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Accountabilities:Provide statistical analysis for key university reports, including the Annual Report and Financial Recovery PlanSupport strategic initiatives aimed at improving success for priority groupsConduct periodic analysis of the university's environmentUnderstand and predict trends affecting student engagement and outcomesUtilize data from internal and external sources for analysisEnsure data accuracy and maintain best practicesGeneral:Build strong relationships within teams based on delivery and integrityContribute actively to team objectivesQualifications and Experience:An undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field is essential; a postgraduate qualification is desirableExperience in complex data analysis, data visualization, and using BI tools like PowerBICapabilities - Behaviour:Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Process information accurately and implement quality assurance practicesCommunication: Engage effectively with stakeholders, delivering clear and concise communicationResults Orientation: Focus on meeting work standards and completing tasks on timeCapabilities - Technical:Data Analysis: Proficient in forecasting and using data visualization toolsQuality Assurance: Participate in testing and validations, ensuring quality in processesPre-employment checks:Pass a Criminal and Traffic Convictions Check by the Ministry of JusticePass a Qualifications Validation Check
