Role Overview:We are seeking a passionate, self-motivated and detail-oriented Junior Intern Chemist to join our research and development team.
This role is ideal for a chemistry student or recent graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative start-up environment.
The Junior Intern Chemist will assist in experimentation, product development, and analysis as we continue to refine our processes and develop groundbreaking renewable chemical products.Key Responsibilities:Support laboratory experiments focused on lignin-derived chemical processes under the guidance of senior chemists to support development of new products and pilot scale processing.Prepare and handle chemical reagents, solutions, and samples.Conduct routine analyses using techniques such as FTIR and UV-visible spectroscopy, chromatography and other analytical methods.Record and maintain accurate laboratory data, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.Collaborate with the R&D team to optimise experimental procedures and improve product development outcomes.Assist in compiling reports and presenting findings to the team.Maintain a clean and organised laboratory environment.Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including commercial.Qualifications and Skills:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.Basic knowledge of material chemistry and laboratory techniques.Knowledge of lignin or bio-based materials would be a plus.Familiarity with analytical methods such as HPLC, GC-MS, or FTIR is a plus.Data analysis using origin or magic plot would be a plus.Strong organisational and documentation skills.Enthusiastic about sustainability and renewable chemical innovation.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Experience in planning, timeline development and management, as well as developing a strategy within a multi-disciplinary team will be an important skill.What We Offer:Hands-on experience with cutting-edge renewable chemical technologies.Mentorship from experienced professionals in the field.A collaborative, innovative, and supportive work culture.Opportunities to contribute to impactful projects that make a difference.
