About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard working Otago Rugby League Development Officer to join our dynamic team at the Southern Zone of New Zealand Rugby League. This is a full-time position based in Dunedin, Central Otago, where you will play a crucial role in growing and developing rugby league in the local region.
What you'll be doing
Identifying and engaging with schools, clubs, and community groups to promote rugby league and increase participation.
Delivering and/or organising coaching and development programmes to players, coaches, and volunteers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Organising and managing rugby league competitions, tournaments, and events to provide opportunities for players to compete.
Utilizing social media platforms and other communication channels to effectively engage with stakeholders.
Assisting in the planning and execution of representative programs.
Maintaining accurate records and reporting on the progress and impact of your work.
Representing the Southern Zone of New Zealand Rugby League and Otago Rugby League in a professional and positive manner.
What we're looking for (But not essential)
Relevant tertiary qualification in sports management, physical education, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in rugby league development, coaching, or administration.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
A passion for rugby league and a commitment to growing the sport at the grassroots level.
A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel within the Otago region as required.
