The Salvation Army Palmerston North Bridge exists to provide safe, integrated, high quality treatment and support services to people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or substance use in a custodial setting.
Our services are evidenced based best practice and are known for being people-centred, caring, transformative and responsive.About the roleWe are looking to appoint a suitably qualified Addictions Caseworker, Social Worker, or suitable Health Professional for our alcohol and/or other drug AOD programme based in Linton and Palmerston North.
It is advantageous for applicants to have worked in a custodial setting and to have group facilitation experience.Key responsibilities:Provision of casework that provides integrated care for those experiencing co-existing problems of addiction and mental health.Group facilitation of structured, evidence-based content.Connection with tangata whai ora, whanau and community services.Working within the framework of The Salvation Army Bridge Programme Model of Treatment.Implementation of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme Policies and Procedures.Person specification:A minimum degree level qualification in addictions, social work, counselling, psychology or allied healthcare.A minimum of two years clinical experience.Experience working in custodial setting advantageous.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Current, or working towards, professional registration with an applicable professional body (Dapaanz, SWRB, NZAC, etc.
).Commitment to continuing professional development relevant to addiction/CEP studies.Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality.Our offer to you:Four weeks annual leave plus TSA additional leave.Initiatives to support your health and wellbeing.A position within a long-standing, respected nationwide organisation.Opportunities for growth and development.This is a permanent, full-time role of 40 hours per week however, part-time hours may be considered for the right candidate.This role is covered by the social worker pay equity (SWPE) agreement.
An experienced practitioner can earn from $68,000 up to $102,000 per annum.
