Senior Social Worker/Supervisor - Social Workers Registration Board NZ (SWRB NZ)Shakti Woman's Refuge Trust – Waitakere, North IslandSKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:NZ recognised qualification (Biocultural Social Practice/Social Work Studies). It is essential to have NZ Social Workers Registration Board - Social Worker Registered.Must have experience working in the Domestic Violence/Family Violence sector.Must have experience managing Crisis Intervention 24/services, with an emphasis on the Domestic Violence sector.Must have experience working within government departments or NGO settings, focusing on providing support to women and children affected by Domestic Violence. This experience could be in New Zealand or internationally.Knowledge of EEO principles and work safety.Proficiency in English Language - verbal and written. Fluency in at least one Asian, Middle Eastern or African language.Passionate about working with women and children and ensuring their safety while promoting social equality.Good computer skills and the ability to use business support software.Excellent leadership skills.Strong management background and attention to detail.Have full Driving Licence and own vehicle.SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic LeadershipTo plan service delivery in tune with the strategic direction of the organisation and maximise the safety of those seeking our Refuge/Safehouse services.Implementation of best practice guidelines, developed by (SDETAT + MSD collaboration)Provide leadership, guidance, supervision, and coaching (one-on-one or Group) to the social workers and Regional Refuge Service Delivery Managers.Work cohesively and collaboratively with the Trust and Regional Refuge Service Delivery Managers to develop plans and strategies to achieve a common goal and sustainable outcomes for the organisation.Build and enhance a positive work culture across the team, that supports continuous learning and improvement through review of case studies and ongoing feedback.Monitoring and ReportingMonitoring service delivery manager, social workers, and refuge coordinator staff numbers to meet client requirements and demand.Coordinate and support the management of the National Office team and work closely with Regional Refuge Service Delivery Managers.Monitor ongoing cases through Excess Database nationally and provide adequate response to the social workers as needed.Travel nationally to do spot check or audit the refuge and client files.Provide accountability report.NetworkingParticipate in network meetings and conferences aimed at promoting the rights of ethnic women to live free of fear and free of violence and represent Shakti accordingly.Maintaining positive relationships with StakeholdersTo advocate for cultural competency, spread cultural awareness about various ethnic communities, and promote cross-cultural understanding between wider communities.Networking & representing Shakti in domestic violence sector in New Zealand nationally.Health and SafetyEnsure health, safety and security policies and procedures are understood, followed and implemented by all employees Nationally.GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESBe punctual and work the hours and times specified.Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard.Support and help develop a positive workplace culture.Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.Responsibly manage all business resources within accountability levels.Undertake all duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description and all other duties as required by the business.Comply with all employment obligations.Promptly undertake to complete all reasonable and lawful instructions and directions given.Serve the business in good faith, promoting and protecting the business's best interests.During work time, and such other times as may be reasonably required, dedicate all effort to the execution and fulfilment of the duties, responsibilities, obligations and instructions related to employment.Demonstrate through own actions a commitment to Health and Safety at work when undertaking work or observing others in the workplace.
