About the Role An exciting opportunity has become available in Te Kunenga Mai Rognokako our Child Development Service, for a registered Social Worker. This position works within our Developmental Assessment Team (DAP Team).
In this role you will:
Facilitate a multidisciplinary team to come together to support tamariki and whanau within education, community and health services.Assist staff/stakeholders/consumers to help navigate whanau through the system to ensure service delivery is culturally appropriate, effective, and efficient.Support your Social Work colleagues within our service in a collegial collaborative manner.About the Team/Service/Location The DAP team Social Worker is responsible for supporting tamariki following diagnosis with a neurobehavioural disorder. These tamariki have complex developmental and behavioural concerns.
You will be well supported in this role and will experience variety, challenges, and a real opportunity to make a difference. You will join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team who provide services throughout Hawke's Bay.
About You We are looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about supporting vulnerable tamariki and their whanau in the community.
The essential requirements for this position are: A passion, proven competence and ability to work with tamariki and their caregivers.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple agencies.A tertiary health qualification, with current practicing certificate in Social Work.A full driving license and the ability to drive a car.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
