Position: Primary and Intermediate (Years 1–8) / Kura Tuatahi, Certificated Teacher Subjects: English, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, Te Reo Maori, The Arts Our amazing SENCo is moving to her dream job, creating a vacancy for someone with a deep passion for Inclusive Education and supporting learners with additional needs.
This role comprises SENCo release time, ORS additional teacher time, and some CRT across classrooms.
The successful candidate will manage and support a highly talented and dedicated team of teacher aides, liaise with senior leadership, work with classroom teachers to provide the best learning environments and programmes, and support individuals and groups of learners with additional needs.
Other key aspects of the role include working with outside agencies such as RTLB, MOE, and ECE services, co-ordinating our ELL programmes, and building and retaining strong relationships with the whanau of learners with additional needs.
Specific attributes for the role: Passion for special education, empathy, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to be flexible.
