A well-established family-owned business based in East Tamaki is seeking a qualified Certificate of Fitness Inspector for heavy diesel. As a COF B Inspector at RTC, you will be vital in maintaining safety and compliance standards within the heavy diesel sector.Key Responsibilities:Perform detailed inspections of heavy vehicles to assess their mechanical condition and compliance with COF regulations.Evaluate vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, steering, tires, and lights to ensure they meet safety standards.Verify documentation and records to confirm vehicle ownership, registration, and compliance history.Identify and document any defects or non-compliance issues found during inspections and recommend corrective actions as necessary.Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally to clients and stakeholders, guiding necessary repairs or maintenance.Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including digital reports and documentation.Stay informed about COF regulations and industry standards changes and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.Collaborate with team members to optimize inspection processes and enhance service quality.Keep ahead of industry developments and updates in COF regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.Qualification and Experience:Possession of a Certificate of Fitness (COF) Inspector qualification issued by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), or willingness to qualify.Proven experience in automotive inspection, with a focus on heavy vehicles.COF A, WOF, COF PSV, and COF B PSV an advantage, not a necessity but a willingness to gain.Skills and Knowledge:Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects or non-compliance issues accurately.Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including diagnostic software and testing devices.Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.What's in it for you:Competitive hourly rate up to $53 per hour.Monday to Friday work - Hours between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm.Working within a family-owned and operated business.Health insurance.
