About the RoleWe have two exciting opportunities for one permanent full-time social worker and a 12-month fixed-term full time social worker.You will be primarily based at Waikato Hospital, where the focus of the role will be to support the Older Persons and Rehabilitation wards.
In this rewarding role, you will be responsible providing support to individuals and families, ensuring their well being and connecting them to essential resources.
You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a dynamic and support environment.
Key responsibilities include: * Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored support plans to address client needs.
* Advocate for clients' rights, ensuring they have access to necessary services and empowering them to make informed decisions.
* Provide immediate support and connecting clients in crisis emergency resource, ensuring safety and stability.

About the TeamSocial Workers are key members of the multi-disciplinary team, working directly with clients/whānau during difficult times.
Our Social Work team covers Medicine, Surgery, Older Persons & Rehabilitation, Renal, Oncology, Emergency Department, Critical Care, Women's Health, Paediatrics and Community.
Although our team works within a range of health services in hospital, you will predominantly be working in the Older Persons & Rehabilitation wards.Our team works within a range of health services in hospital and community-based settings throughout the Waikato district and reports professionally to their manager within our Allied Health Service.
