Your focus is delivering high-quality solutions that overcome complex challenges related to our portfolio of cloud platforms and applications. We're looking for an ambitious technical expert to run point on one or potentially two squads focused on specific products. Come help us push the boundaries of what veterinary software can do. So, what is IDEXX Veterinary Software? Here in Auckland we develop a portfolio of cloud platforms and applications. We're building a vertical SaaS platform for animal health that requires significant technical expertise to deliver. Solutions for practice management (PIMS), diagnostics, payments, client engagement, analytics & insight plus many more. We're on a mission to build the best health technology business and we need you to help us do it More about our tech? ezyVet helps veterinary practices save time, increase revenue, communicate better with clients and reduce workload stress. ezyVet's the tip of the software spear, our main PIMS application, is a single-page web app built and maintained on PHP. React, TypeScript and Redux Front-end and PHP with Laravel 7.x for our APIs. Going onto the platform, we use MySQL 8 for our databases and our servers are all managed through AWS. Utilising Docker, Terraform and GitLab to rollout and manage our cloud application and its many services. What your day might look like: Create technical design documentation Build large scale or complex projects that are fit for purpose and achieve the desired result Build code that is beautifully crafted, highly scalable, and maintainable Monitor, evaluate and improve projects as they are released (agile) Write well-crafted unit tests Provide senior code reviews to ensure code that is released is robust and does not break Refactor the low-level framework objects to improve the performance and scalability of our platforms Contribute to high-level tech stack related discussions and aid in driving our application forward Be a role model that junior and intermediate engineers can look up to for guidance Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to better understand the broader aspects of our portfolio and collectively solve the challenges of scale What you need to succeed: Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer Proven technical capability with software design Experience leading technical advancements to solve problems Experience with principles and practices related to cloud technologies Previous experience in SaaS environment Experience with any: PHP/Laravel, GoLang, Typescript, MySQL, AWS (or C/C++, C#, Java, other OOP languages depending on ability), Node.js, React.js, React Native Web, other cloud architecture Experience with unit testing Strong OO design patterns, modular design Experience building and consuming APIs (JSON, SOAP) What you can expect from us: Structured onboarding, induction, ongoing training and transparent performance-driven professional development Rewarding salary packages including lucrative incentive schemes for all Continuous L&D (both internal and externally) Great tech kit for both work and personal use Hybrid working with a great office space to collaborate - including a gym and rooftop bar Coffee + snacks + catered lunches at least twice a week (Food Truck Friyay) Dog-friendly office Fully subsidized Southern Cross Health insurance Part subsidized parking via Parkable Career pathways that will take you places if you are willing and able If you want to work with real purpose, solving key challenges in the animal health industry with innovative cloud software, this is the opportunity for you Why IDEXX We're proud of the work we do, because our work matters.
