This role is predominantly clinical, working to provide care for children, young people and whanau within the inter-disciplinary team setting. The Senior Hospital Play Specialist works as a support for Core Hospital Play Specialists in collaboration with the Hospital Play Specialist Senior Leadership Team (Team Leader, ECE Lead, Clinical Coach).The Senior HPS will hold a designated portfolio of responsibility and support clinical education and quality improvement initiatives relevant to their area of practice and/or designated area of responsibility. This role provides comprehensive assessment and outcome focused innovative care, applying evidence based practice, interventions and education within the area of specialty.Minimum Requirements:Hold professional registration with HPSAANZ.A minimum of 4 years post graduate experience including a minimum of 2 years within paediatricsExperience mentoring and guiding clinical / education practiceA sound understanding of practice in the relevant area of clinical practice in New ZealandPost graduate study / qualifications in relevant clinical area desiredStarship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific.
