POSITION DESCRIPTION Position purpose The purpose of the Sales Assistant role is dealing with customers and vendors on a daily basis. This role will report to a manager or supervisor, who will generally provide daily instructions. Main tasks Core objectives include: Work on customers' Request for Quote. Search the market and provide quotes to customers on time. Data entry in the sales information system, Pentagon. Filing of such data, both physically and electronically. Understanding ISO9001, ASA-100, and AC 00-56A knowledge, and following the Quality Assurance Manual for all jobs undertaken. The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company. Other Duties Fulfill other duties as required by management and other department personnel. Required qualities Professional approach. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to be a team player. Organisational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Good accuracy with numbers and alphabetic data. Good working knowledge of Pentagon. Desired competencies Analytical thinking. Initiative. Business awareness. Tenacity. Strategic thinking. Positive approach to change. PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications High school diploma / College / University degree preferred. Experience Relevant commercial or practical experience in sales, or 0-3 years' experience in sales. Skills & competencies Customer service focused: committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone, and face to face. Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience. Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally. Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner. Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members. Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within the time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within the portfolio in an efficient and timely manner. Personal attributes Professional approach (essential). Confident manner (essential). Positive approach to change (essential). Other Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (essential). Clean driving licence (essential).
