This role is grounded in the principle that "high quality inputs = high quality outputs".While the short-term focus of this role will vary from month to month depending on the work happening within Council and our Committees, the permanent key objectives of the Committee Advisor are:Well-organised meetings of Council and its committees;The provision of high-quality information to inform those meetings;Efficient and effective recording of the meetings by way of minutes or recordings; andThe implementation of effective and clear governance policies across Council via tasks delegated by the Governance Quality Manager and the Senior Committee Advisor.You will be a specialist in democratic processes, relationship management, and risk/issue management as it relates to governance matters, displaying political acumen.
You will have outstanding communication skills and enthusiasm and energy for the role.
Good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
We are looking for someone with Local Government policy, strategy, governance, democracy, and customer service experience.
