Whakarongorau Aotearoa (Whakarongorau), a social enterprise, is a virtual health and social services organisation with a proven record of connecting people seamlessly with care when they need it. Whakarongorau aims to be there when face to face health and social services cannot, providing consistent, clinically supported access to services for those in need or when people are unable to access other options due to location, time of day, financial or cultural barriers. Job Description Whakarongorau supports a comprehensive range of clinics across Aotearoa, consisting of a mix of nurse-led and Health Care Assistant (HCA) assisted clinics. These clinics employ both in-person and remote Takuta (Doctors) to ensure continuity of care for our registered patients, primarily serving high-needs rural communities and priority populations. This is a contract role for 6 - 12 months and you must have availability to work a minimum of 2 days per week (Monday to Friday) As a Takuta (Doctor) with Whakarongorau you will: Provide care tailored to meet the unique needs of our patients Collaborate with clinic nurses and HCAs to deliver optimal healthcare services Integrate seamlessly with the clinic team to enhance patient care Conduct remote telehealth consultations effectively and efficiently Understand local services and work to overcome barriers to accessing these services Qualifications We are seeking an experiencedTakuta(Doctor) with appropriate scope or a Matanga Rongoa Whanui(General Practitioner) who is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. You will be passionate about delivering high-quality care to rural and high-needs communities and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure a quality service experience for both patients and the clinic team. Strong communication and relationship-building skills Teamwork and problem-solving abilities Experience in remote work is preferable but not essential Confidence in using Patient Management Systems Flexibility and commitment to working full days, with specific working hours open for discussion Integrate understanding and learnings of Te Ao Maori, Tikanga and Te Reo into approach and delivery of care To succeed in this role, you will need: A high-speed fibre internet connection (not wireless or mobile internet) A high-spec computer capable of handling high-demand software A multi-screen setup, headset, printer, and scanner You will need a private space to work from that ensures the confidentiality of conversations, documents, and technology.
