The Production Planner is tasked with the overall planning, balancing, execution, and coordination of milk and derivatives for Oceania Dairy and the wider group.
This role is required to work across the site with multiple departments; therefore, the preferred candidate must be adaptable, quick on their feet, and able to balance stakeholder expectations.
This role is pivotal in contributing to overall operational efficiency and supports the organisation's supply chain objectives.Oceania Dairy (ODL) is a dairy manufacturing plant located in Glenavy, South Canterbury, with a diverse workforce of 400 staff, who specialise in the creation of Milk Powder (adult and infant formula) and UHT milk.
Our organisation is owned by the Yili Group alongside dairy industry powerhouses Westland Milk Products, Canary Butter, EasiYo Yogurt, and Pure Nutrition Limited.
Our ODL family thrives on a sense of unity and collective success, and through focusing on innovation, quality, and our diversity, we can successfully contribute to maintaining Yili's title of Asia's leading dairy product provider.In the role of Production Planner, you will be responsible for (not limited to):Prepare daily and weekly production plans which are feasible considering production constraints and allow for product to be manufactured in an efficient manner.Handle deviations from the plans and schedules caused by approved exception requests effectively, minimising the impact on business performance.Identify and lead the implementation of opportunities to improve plan attainment and plan stability.Work with Demand Planner(s) and Supply Planner(s) to manage changes to the plan and significant deviations from the plan, including root-cause analysis, investigations, and remedial actions implemented.Balance milk and cream flow, closely monitoring the milk carryover.Collaborate with Supply team, Production teams, Maintenance Teams, R&D/Innovation, and more, to ensure that their throughputs, constraints, maintenance plans, trials, and other initiatives are reflected in the production plan.The successful applicant will have:Minimum of University Entrance or NCEA Level 3 equivalent with English and Maths.Extensive Microsoft Office Suite experience, with advanced Excel skills.Previous experience in production planning, material planning, or other relevant planning experience is desirable.Astuteness, a strong customer focus, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and work with all people at all levels.Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure and be responsive to organisational contingencies as they arise.Ability to manage and appropriately prioritise many competing demands across a range of activities.Why choose Oceania Dairy?State-of-the-art facilities.Southern Cross Health Insurance.Free employee bus provided from Timaru and Oamaru to travel to site.On-site gym, annual health checks, on-site physiotherapy, additional benefits.Employee Assistance Program.Oceania Dairy has a strong safety culture.Values-led organisation committed to the training and development of employees.This role is based in Glenavy, South Canterbury, NZ.The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000.The hours of work are 40 hours, Monday to Friday.Why wait - apply now?If you want to take the next step in your career, apply now.
