Join a New Zealand owned-and-operated business.Become part of a successful team.Trind Service Limited trading as TRS is a New Zealand owned and operated company.TRS specialises in armature and motor rewinding as well as the maintenance, repair and replacement of electric motors, generators, pumps, transmissions and other associated plant and equipment.Due to a period of significant, exciting growth, we have an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter Turner to join our team based in Nelson.You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repairs of all types of electrical apparatus and associated mechanical equipment, along with conducting onsite maintenance, repairs and replacement of components on such equipment.Key Responsibilities:Understand the basic function of all types of rotating equipment and machines used in the industry.Assemble and disassemble rotating equipment.Replace bearings and seals in industrial equipment.Assess the condition of mechanical components and repair those components.Conduct assessments, onsite maintenance, and repairs.Conduct static and dynamic tests on electrical equipment.Assist in rewinding electric motors and generators.Criteria:Experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment and machines.Experience with onsite maintenance work.Ability and willingness to travel, at times with short notice, within the South Island.Qualities:Dedication to working in a safe manner at all times.Calm and focused demeanor with a keen eye for detail.Good communication skills – verbal, written and listening.Flexible and adaptable customer service-focused attitude.Organisational and time management skills.Ability to work in a team environment whilst meeting tight deadlines.Follow company policies, procedures, and training regimes.Along with excellent customer service and communication skills, our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience carrying out mechanical repairs.A current NZ Driver's License and forklift license and operating certificate (or the ability to gain the latter) is required, along with the willingness to travel by motor vehicle and on commercial flights from time to time.This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with the earning potential of $75,000 - $85,000 per annum.
