The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist, working in our Older Peoples Assessment & Liaison Service (OPAL), based within the Occupational Therapy Team at Palmerston North Hospital. Primary responsibilities are providing quality occupational therapy services within a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team, to meets the needs of older persons with frailty in a dedicated inpatient unit. The OPAL unit also supports older adults who are experiencing delirium. We are looking for an occupational therapist who is: Enthusiastic, energetic, resilient, with a 'can do' attitude Has the ability to work effectively within a team New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist, with a current practicing certificate Has experience working with older adults Strong desire to help clients and whanau achieve their goals Effective written, oral and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. Strong organisational and time management skills Holds Enable NZ Accredited Assessor status, be Service Accredited or eligible to become accredited with appropriate training A full, current, driver's licence is essential Palmerston North is a great place to live with a culturally diverse population, plenty of outdoor activities, a great variety of eateries and reasonable cost of living in the region.
