Job DescriptionAbout the roleWe're on the hunt for a dynamic Process Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in optimising operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring product quality throughout the manufacturing of our nutritional powders.As part of this exciting role, you'll support key projects that drive new product development, guiding products from the manufacturing stage all the way to commercialisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and expand your knowledge across food, dairy, and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.You'll be joining a team which can provide endless learning and growth potential.Key responsibilities of this role include:Optimize process parameters to enhance yield, product quality, and throughputWork closely with production teams to ensure consistent and stable operationsTroubleshoot process deviations and equipment failuresLead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to eliminate inefficienciesAssist in scaling up new formulations to full productionUse statistical analysis and data modelling to predict trends and optimize performanceWork on sustainability projects such as CIP Improvement, water and energy conservationConduct safety risk assessments and hazard analysisAlign and communicate project progress with relevant stakeholdersIf you are passionate about achieving results, can think in terms of profit, loss and added value plus enjoy sharing knowledge with others, this could be the role for youSkills And ExperienceWe're ideally looking for experienced Process Engineers who have 3 plus years experience and preferably within dairy/nutritional powder manufacturing or plant commissioning, but we're open to considering candidates who may not meet all the criteria.A minimum of a Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or Food/Dairy Technology is essential.Master's degree in Engineering, Dairy Technology, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.Previous experience and technical knowledge of Evaporators and Spray Dryers as well as CIP Systems in the dairy industryStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex process issues.Small scale Project Management experience would be idealProficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis for performance improvement.Applicants outside of New Zealand will only be considered if you have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.About Us – The Synlait WaySynlait is a dynamic, purpose-led milk nutrition company that is Doing Milk Differently for a Healthier World
