Our top-rated Institutional Equities team is looking to fill a rare and exciting position for an Associate Analyst.
The main purpose of this role is to support the delivery of high-quality and insightful research to Craigs Investment Partner's internal and external clients.Based in our Auckland office reporting to the Head of Institutional Research, the Associate Research Analyst will primarily support the research team with data collection and analysis, database management, and writing research.
This is a great career opportunity for the right candidate to gain exposure within the industry working alongside our highly regarded Institutional teamAbout youYou will ideally have:A strong interest in equity capital markets;A strong inner drive to succeed and a willingness to work hard;Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in either Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Mathematics with Statistics (or a combination of these) from a leading University, with post-graduate degrees or CFA providing an edge;One to three years direct experience in roles that require some or all of a combination of data analysis, equity analysis or corporate finance with a leading employer in their respective field (Big 4 preferred);Confidently be able to source, organise and interpret data from sources including Stats NZ, RBNZ, Bloomberg, Refinitiv and other sources;Strong financial modelling and database management skills (particularly in Excel);Basic knowledge of valuation techniques (DCF, peer multiples) and basic accounting literacy (Stage 2 University level sufficient);Programming skills (for example: VBA, R, Python) that could be used to help procure additional data and insights on covered companies (desirable);Proven company analysis skills (desirable).About the CompanyCraigs Investment Partners (CIP) is a multi-award winning investment advisory firm which is one of the largest in New Zealand.
