As the Network Development Manager – Generation & Transmission, you'll play a pivotal role in integrating large-scale renewable energy projects and ensuring our bulk electricity supply meets long-term growth and security objectives.
You'll collaborate with industry leaders, work on cutting-edge energy solutions, and have the autonomy to drive innovation.What You'll Be DoingShaping the future – Lead the strategic planning and optimisation of bulk power supply, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable energy solutions.Renewable integration – Oversee the grid connection of distributed energy resources (DERs), including generation and energy storage, working with key stakeholders to deliver successful projects.Technical leadership – Provide expertise in power systems engineering, mentoring colleagues and influencing decision-making.Stakeholder engagement – Work closely with Transpower, regulatory bodies, major customers, and internal teams to align energy generation with demand forecasts.Innovation & continuous improvement – Stay ahead of industry trends, implementing best practices to enhance network resilience and efficiency.What We're Looking ForA BE qualification and 10+ years of experience in electricity network planning or power systems engineering.Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and future energy trends in New Zealand.Strong analytical skills, with experience in PSSSINCAL, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, RTDS or similar tools.Leadership capabilities to mentor, guide, and influence stakeholders.The ability to solve complex challenges and make data-driven decisions.Why This Role?Stability & Growth – Join an established organisation that values long-term planning and development.Influence & Impact – Shape the future of renewable energy integration in New Zealand.Collaboration & Leadership – Work with top industry professionals, leading innovative projects that will define the next era of electricity distribution.This is your chance to lead, innovate, and make a real impact in New Zealand's evolving energy landscape.
