As a Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor, you will provide advice to Permissions Advisors and decision makers to ensure we are giving effect to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
You will also contribute to the development of operational policy and best practice in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi, as well as identifying training needs and working to a consistent national approach to train and mentor staff.
The work is varied, with each application being different from the next.
We receive applications from a wide range of individuals and business owners who have an interest in using DOC land or interacting with protected wildlife, such as tourism operators, other government agencies, land developers, and many others.
A great aspect of this role is certainly the relationships you'll get to build with various stakeholder groups and industries; and you'll be joining a really strong, collaborative team who pride themselves on producing professional and high-quality outputs.
Responsibilities:Utilise your strong knowledge of Treaty principles.Help regulate the use of conservation land and interactions with our wildlife.Experience working with planning and or legislative processes.Experience working with relevant conservation legislation.Experience analysing large amounts of complex information to produce high-quality reports and succinct recommendations.Experience and skilled in managing a busy caseload.Apply online with a CV and cover letter that highlights your relevant skills, experience, and motivation for applying for this role.
The salary range for this position is $79,656 - $100,639, with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
