He angitutanga: The opportunityAuckland Council's Procurement department has an opportunity for a Sustainable Procurement Advisor-Group Shared Services to join the Sustainable Procurement team.This is a critical role for the Council and will focus on ensuring procurement delivers added value beyond the procurement of the goods and services we buy.
This role will also influence the strategic direction of procurement and is a key interface with internal business units, external partners and intermediary organisations that help facilitate positive sustainable outcomes for Auckland Council and the wider council group.You could expect to work on:Support sustainable procurement practice with staff and suppliersProvide advice and direction to business and procurement teams on sustainable procurement strategiesContribute to ethical sourcing and due diligence activities for suppliersCollaborate with Maori and/or Pasifika-owned suppliers and impact businesses, to identify spend opportunitiesHe korero mou: About youThis role requires experience in a field relating to sustainability, procurement, commercial, supply chain, or social impact, including projects or roles that address environmental or social issues preferably.Ideally you will have experience working within large, complex, and potentially political organisations.We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:Practical experience of data collation and reporting toolsSuccessful relationship builder, collaborator and communicator.Knowledge of public sector procurement principles desirable.A genuine interest and understanding of the benefits of broader outcomes in procurement including environmental issues, climate change, social impact or community outcomes.Please note we still encourage you to apply if you have some but not all these requirements.Nga ahuatanga kei a matou: What we offerAuckland Council is the largest local government council across Oceania, serving over 1.7 million people and contributing towards making Tamaki Makaurau a world-class city.We offer a range of employee benefits and proudly support flexible working options where possible.Help us make a difference to Tamaki Makaurau.Me Tono Inaianei
