Upper Grade Teacher

Upper Grade Class Teacher 2024-2025

The Nelson Waldorf School is currently seeking applications for Class Teacher for upper grade. The position is available for the 2024–2025 school year, with the contract beginning in January 2025.

The Class teacher should have a passion for Waldorf education and should inspire the love of learning in youth. Key qualities are strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. With the responsibility of carrying a class of up to 20 students, the successful candidate will have excellent class management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities: Deliver the grade 7 & 8 Curriculum integrating BC Ministry requirements and Waldorf curriculum.Report on students according to Faculty agreements and BC Ministry requirements.Abide by BC Independent School teacher conduct and competence standards.Reports to: Principal of School
Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time; $51,500.00 to $70,040.00 annually plus benefits (health, disability, life insurance and tuition) and increments for related experience.
Education and Skill Requirements:
BC Teacher Certification
Completed Waldorf Teacher Training with a clear understanding of Rudolf Steiner's education and philosophy will be preferred or willingness to take the Waldorf training.
