Through integration and collaboration, we are rebuilding a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the roleAs a Hospital Play Specialist, your role is based in the Activity Room (a licensed hospital-based Early childhood service) and in the paediatric wards to support a diverse range of paediatric patients with a variety of medical and health needs.Our role as Hospital Play Specialists is to work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to support pepe, tamariki, and rangatahi and their whanau to whakatere (navigate) the hospital system.
We do this by helping them to cope with hospitalisation, minimising associated stress and anxiety, building coping strategies, and creating opportunities for participating in health care.
We use play as a medium to achieve this outcome and to create ongoing learning opportunities.We are looking for an experienced Hospital Play Specialist to join our fun team in a fixed-term, part-time role.
