Our space systems business includes our extensive line of satellites and components that have enabled more than 1,700 missions including the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA Psyche Mission, Artemis I, Mars Ingenuity helicopter, and more.Join our pioneering team and launch your career to new heightsABOUT THE ROLEThe primary purpose of the Project Engineer is to lead the technical aspects of project execution. The PE is the bridge between Design Engineering and Production. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the day-to-day tasking gets completed. This often involves ad-hoc problem solving and coordination. PEs are the boots on the ground leaders who ensure we get from start to completion. This role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment, critical thinking, pragmatic problem solving, and lots of cross department communication & coordination.WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:Provide innovative solutions and guidance when faced with engineering problems, leveraging advanced technical knowledge and theories.Share and apply knowledge on the effectiveness of engineering concepts and theories, and interface with related technical systems beyond immediate responsibilities.Create, review, and enhance technical documents related to your projects, ensuring clarity and precision in documentation.Offer project management advice and assist other teams in project design and execution, ensuring effective communication and prioritization.Assess program risks, communicate them effectively, understand mitigation plans, and track their progress to ensure successful risk management.Develop personal strategic plans with minimal supervision, while seeking guidance from senior engineers and management when necessary.Take ownership of tasks and projects, challenge the status quo, and consistently make priority assessments to drive improvements and deliver results.YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering (or related)3+ years' experience as an engineer, ideally in aerospaceHands-on technical experience with complex electro-mechanical systems/assembliesStrong communicator, with proven ability to write clear and concise technical documentationCan-do attitude and flexibility to thrive around growing teams and processesTHESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:Strong experience in project management and/or project engineeringKnowledge of project management, production interface and ERP software systems such as JIRA, Team Center and ERP/MRPKnowledge of production quality metricsHands-on experience with composite assembliesRocket Lab Employee BenefitsThe opportunity to work on innovative and ground breaking technologyAn employee stock purchase programAccess to world leading experts to develop your careerUnlimited barista coffee, fruit, and snacksRocket Lab merchandise - T-shirts, mission patches etc.Discounted health insurance with Southern CrossAdditional parental leave entitlementsA vibrant team culture with social activities throughout the yearIf the above sounds like you apply now
