We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Speech-Language Therapist looking to take the next step in their career as Practice Lead of Speech-language Therapy Team.
As SLT Practice Lead, you will work within the Senior Services Management Team to ensure the organisation is supported to meet people's communication rights. Reporting to the Clinical Director, you will work directly alongside managers of Learning and Development, Quality and Risk, Service Managers, Clinical Practice Leads and the Chief Operating Officer. In this role you will be:
Provide leadership for the speech-language therapy team:Leading communication, and dysphagia services for adults with learning disabilitiestriaging communication and dysphagia referrals, allocating caseloadsupervising and mentoring SLTsensuring the team operate efficiently and to a high standard of evidence-based practice.Manage a clinical caseloadIdentifying opportunities and scopeContribute to the development and implementation of strategic objectives across the organisation.Consult on the development of organisational procedures, the delivery of service improvement projects.Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders - such as TalkLink, Te Whatu Ora, NZSTA, and Speech-language Therapy University programmes.Advocate for people's communication rights within the organisation and wider disability sector.The suitable candidate will have:
Recognised qualification in speech-language therapy, and current membership of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association.Clinical experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, with a minimum of five years' experience.Strong leadership skills. Previous experience managing a team is preferred.Effective communication, networking and interpersonal skills.Competent in comprehensive communication assessments and appropriate interventions, including expertise in a variety of communication tools and technologies, including AAC.Person-centred - committed to the provision of individualised services and support.Commitment and passion - highly motivated and energetic - takes a high level of personal responsibility, relishes a challenge and remains enthusiastic despite setbacks.Innovation - embraces change and contributes new ideas.Excellence - constantly strives to be the best. Goal oriented, seeking opportunities to improve personal and team performanceA full and current class 1 driver licence is essential. Spectrum Care will take all reasonable steps to accommodate genuine needs due to a particular disability in the provision of appropriate vehicle and/or vehicle modifications if required.
