Join us.We're looking for an experienced Gym Instructor to join our passionate, fun team based at the Queenstown Events Centre.
This role is working 20 hours per week with specific hours to be discussed in more detail during the interview.What you'll be doing / He aha te mahiAs the Senior Health & Fitness Gym Crew, you'll provide daily operational support to the Gym Supervisor, manage equipment maintenance, assist with recruitment and training of new instructors, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for gym members.
You'll help drive memberships, promote gym activities, handle customer inquiries and concerns, and oversee the work of cleaning contractors.
You'll also ensure compliance with health and safety policies and participate in team-building and professional development activities.The role will involve:Providing daily operational support to the Gym Supervisor, ensuring the gym is clean, safe, and well-maintainedSupporting the recruitment, training, and induction of new Gym Instructors, ensuring they follow operational procedures and safety protocolsDriving gym membership growth and promoting activities while addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptlyOverseeing the daily cleaning schedule and ensuring contractors meet required standards for gym cleanliness and maintenanceFostering a positive team environment by encouraging team-building activities, setting goals, and maintaining effective communication within the gym staffWhat you'll bring to the role / Ko wai to PukekaYou will bring a strong background in health and fitness, with at least two years of experience and a proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and operational support.
With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you'll foster strong relationships within the team and with customers, creating an engaging and motivating atmosphere.
Your proactive approach to problem-solving, health and safety, and continuous improvement will help drive the gym's success and support the overall goals of the Alpine Health and Fitness team.
Previous experience at a Council led gym would be advantageous.To best succeed in this role, you'll have:New Zealand Certificate in Fitness Level 4 or higherExperience in the supervision and control of the public.A background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education or related field is preferredTo apply, please follow the link and apply online with your CV and Cover Letter.
