The Mental Health Service for Older Persons (MHSOP) is a secondary specialist service for people over 65 years of age living in the Waikato District.
Older people with functional and organic conditions, co-existing mental health and physical health needs, or substance use problems benefit from this service.The service includes a community team and an inpatient unit (OPR1) and provides a cohesive integrated service with medical staff working across both settings.
