Our menu is approachable, with familiar flavours and a sharing style that everyone can feel connected to.Trivet is located at the cornerstone of JW Marriott Hotel Auckland in Albert Street, Auckland CBD.The Head Bartender is focused on customer satisfaction, striving towards better standards of service, implementing and training of beverage lists, improved systems and procedures, and building and retaining a world-class bar team.
Maintaining a strong focus in the beverage operation will be key to the success of this position whilst ensuring adherence to service, concept standards, all service sequences, as well as operating procedures.Responsibilities:Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.Plan and supervise Trivet Bar and Forum's day-to-day operations in order to contribute to the enjoyment of our guests' lifestyle experience.Ensure strong communication between the outlets, and efficient stock requisitioning to bars.Develop, implement and continually review the policies, procedures, practices and concept standards, as well as control to ensure they are consistently applied.Recruit a world-class bar team across all bar areas.Train, develop, coach and manage the performance of direct and indirect reporting associates to ensure the efficient running of all bar areas in order to maximize associate culture, productivity, guest satisfaction and consequently profitability.Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by liquor licensing regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.Inspect all aspects of the outlet environment ensuring compliance with standards of cleanliness and order and direct respective personnel to rectify deficiencies immediately.Inspect quality and amounts of garnishes, ensuring agreement to departmental standards.Maintain high visibility during meal service times, high hotel occupancy periods in order to ensure smooth running of operations, promote good public relations, take corrective actions and handle customers' complaints to ensure their satisfaction.Stay abreast of current market trends for food and beverages to ensure the hotel bars are at the forefront of hospitality.Inspect the bar areas to ensure the beverage quality and service philosophies are according to JW Marriott standards, the physical facilities and equipment are well kept and that all hygiene manual, health and safety regulations are adhered to, by verifying temperatures, observing presentation, tasting products and checking preparation methods to determine quality.
Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.Anticipate and maintain all material and supplies ensuring their availability.Create an on-brand, profitable and user-friendly cocktail list in conjunction with your Head Bartender and team.Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.Ensure special events are planned well in advance and co-operation between hotel and bars is seamless.Identify areas of potential growth for the Bar and how the business can be improved.Manage monthly stock take and work through variances implementing control systems.Ensure that transfer slips and spill sheets are filled out and distributed in accordance with departmental standards.Maintain payroll, forecasting and controls of beverage costs and percentage in line with monthly P&L.Manage and control stock ensuring par levels are maintained.Why work with us:Very competitive remuneration packageExpand on your hospitality skills and knowledgeOn-going development with industry relevant trainingWork alongside a supportive and skilled management teamOpportunity to progress and work across a variety of local and international venuesPaid day off on your birthday after a year of continuous serviceAnnual staff party and awardsBe a key player in this pre-opening journeyYou will demonstrate excellent communication skills and above all, a positive 'can do' attitude.Investing in our people is paramount.
