Production Coordinator

At RJ's confectionery, we are now recruiting for experienced and motivated individuals to join our production shifts as our newly created Production Coordinators working out of our very busy Levin manufacturing facility.
No day is the same at RJ's, so be prepared to be on the go. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is key in ensuring that production occurs in the most efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner to meet product demands.
About the role
As a Production Coordinator, your role is to support the Shift Managers by successfully delivering, coordinating, and monitoring functions to ensure that production occurs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner while providing the correct labor balance. This role will be responsible for the regular monitoring of production safety and quality standards and provide ongoing training to deliver the company standards within the daily operations.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and improve quality, food safety, and hygiene within the area of responsibility and take corrective action in response to quality, food safety, and hygiene non-compliance.
Assist with scheduled training when necessary, keeping all training matrices updated.
Complete assigned audits and checklists in line with WHS and Quality requirements.
Controlled management of labor planning and forecasting against production plans.
Monitor & report on KPIs.
Investigate material variance and labor cost when necessary.
Review & report working hours of the production team and complete weekly payroll.

About You
The successful applicant requires:

A can-do attitude, looking for the next step in their manufacturing career.
Previous production experience within an FMCG/Food or Beverage manufacturing environment is ideal but not essential.
Sound understanding of WHS and Quality.
Experience leading cross-functional teams.
Ability to work well within a team environment.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a hands-on environment.
Sense of urgency, deadline-driven with exceptional organizational skills.
Ability to lead change and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders.
Support a team of production workers to ensure that production requirements are met on a daily basis.
Intermediate level computer skills including use of MS Office suite.
