Aged & Disability Support (Community Services & Development)Full timeReporting to the Area Manager (Poutakiwa), in this role you will be leading and supporting your team of kaiawhina (staff) who provide the day-to-day care and wellbeing of the tangata (clients) living in the whare (house). There are numerous aspects to this role including:Tangata lifestyle development and support plans,Operational Management,Quality development,Leadership,Relationship management.Enhancing and fostering tikanga and Te Reo Maori within the whare. Incorporating these things across activities is an important aspect of the role.There may also be times in this role when you will need to roll your sleeves up and provide the day-to-day care to support your kaiawhina and tangata.Ko wai koe | About YouIdeally you will bring supervisory experience from within the health care sector. This could be from a community health, disability support service or aged care setting. Experience of working with tangata who have high and/or complex needs would be advantageous.You have a strong ability to lead, coach and support a team of people to achieve quality based outcomes in what can be a challenging environment. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are essential as is the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Your skills will include:Previous Leadership experience in Care Support IndustryA good level of computer literacyThe ability to work as part of a cohesive teamStrong interpersonal skillsHigh level of emotional intelligence and resilienceGreat time management and organisational abilityUnderstanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of Maori, Pacific and other unique cultures that make up the people within our service.Minimum level 4 certificate in Health & Wellbeing or recognised alternative qualification essential.A reasonably good level of physical fitness is required.As is a full NZ driver license.Te Whariki Whakaruruhau is the Te Roopu Taurima (TRT) model of service that recognises the intrinsic value and relationship of tangata (people we support), their whanau and kaimahi (staff).
