You - llalso focus on working with staff to best meet the needs of patients and theirwhānau accessing our services.
As this is a casual position, there areno fixed/guaranteed hours of work.
However, the more available you are the moreshifts you'll be offered.Hospitals are here to help people, butit takes a great team beyond the Doctors and Nurses to keep things runningsmoothly and ensure everyone is well looked after.

And that - s where we think you could have agreat role to play.About the Team/Service/ LocationOur team is made up of 12 staff across Nelson/Marlborough.
This position has a focus on ensuring that peoplewho attend ED and Mental Health services are supported within a welcomingenvironment that supports safety, recovery and wellbeing.For more information on living and working in Nelson click hereAbout youAs aPatient Support & Security Worker, you will: * be the type of person who works in a rational and calm manner, * someone who has the skills and experience to effectively de-escalate difficult situations, * promote a safe and therapeutic environment, * be able to relate well to patients and their visitors, * be able to work with the clinical team and follow directions.Previous experience in security, or arelated industry is preferred.
However, this is not essential as training willbe provided.
Additionally you will have: * empathy and a non-judgmental attitude towards patients and members of the public * the ability to relate with ease to people from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds * the ability to recognise and pass on issues that may affect patient welfare * a good level of physical fitness and mobility.
