Te Whiwhinga mahi- The Opportunity - Manager Transport Standards The Manager Transport Standards is the business owner of the Transport Design Manual (TDM).
The primary purpose of the role is to be the corporate expert of design & engineering standards, including the development, maintenance and institutionalisation of the TDM.
The role will also take the lead in the research and development of design and engineering standards and specifications and is specifically required to direct AT's responses to, and implementation of, Government policy statement (GPS) outcomes and Auckland Council planning objectives as they relate to the standards.
Key Tasks include: Researching national and international changes in the design and engineering of transport infrastructure, standards and emerging issues.Developing and managing programmes of engagement (including with external parties) and implementing continuous improvement of the TDM.Maintaining design guidance and engineering standards to ensure they are relevant, up to date, fit for purpose and meet the requirements of internal and external customers including professional engineering, design and delivery consultants and suppliers.Engaging across the business on enabling pragmatic, technically sound engineering solutions to AT projects.Attending and presenting at regional and national engineering forums or other collaboration opportunities.Minimum Requirements: Honours (4 year) degree in engineering or organisational management.Post-graduate qualification / master's degree in engineering management or other relevant specialist field.Chartered Professional Engineer.15+ years in technical specialist roles relating to engineering design, engineering management, technical specification, heavy infrastructure construction or operational management of transport systems.Demonstrated experience in teams delivering cross-functional or cross-agency strategic initiatives.Experience in risk management and public consultation processes.At AT, we embrace inclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, inclusive of our differences.
