Hairdressers Required

We are looking for two hairdressers for our busy shop in Thames in the Waikato region, New Zealand. You will need to have an excellent work ethic and will be prepared to have some early mornings and late nights. Ideally, you will be able to use your knowledge, skills and experience to complete haircuts as required by our customer base. You should also be able to learn and execute new trends in hairstyles. Daily Tasks Involved in the role include but are not limited to:Talking to customers to ascertain their requirements, suggesting styles, washing hair and applying shampoos/conditioners/treatment agents, using barber tools to cut and shape hair, identifying and solving hair problems, applying hot towels, shaving beards and facial hair, trimming and cleaning beards, quoting prices for client work, receiving payments for work completed and cleaning and sterilising equipment. You must also maintain a tidy workstation and assist with maintaining a tidy barbershop.We are looking for a mature staff member who are able to work on their own without any supervision and minimal training. They must be able to communicate to a diverse range of people and be able to maintain professional customer service in any circumstance. You will have at least two years of work experience in a barbershop role. A high standard of hygiene is also required and you must be properly groomed at all times.
Due to the nature of the position, you may be subject to drug testing prior to the provision of an Offer of Employment.
We anticipate providing at least 30 guaranteed hours per week and a wage between $29.66 and $35 per hour depending on knowledge, skills and experience.Please contact us for any further enquiries.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
